Job Description For our client, the European Space Agency ESA, we are looking for an EndtoEnd Mission Performance Engineer S4 for their location in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, to join their Ground System Deinition Verification Office. You will work within the Project team and will report to the System and Instrument manager. You will support him with reference to The verification of the L1B algorithms integrity and performances The design, development, and procurement of the Level 2 ground processor prototype, its algorithms, and the associated Level 2 simulator The demonstration achievement of the required performance of the Level 2 Products. Tasks and Responsibilities The assessment of the delivered scientific processing algorithm in Python The assessment of the delivered Instrument Quality Tool IQT v2alpha and its ability to process real instrument data PFM Focal Plane SubSystem data , S4 enhanced EM data, The assessment of the delivered Level1 Reference Processor and perform a comparison of the results with the IQT The development, implementation and validation of complex key data generation tools for the instrument calibration and performance verification tasks, as defined in the S4 onground calibration plan and in the L1b processing specification The support to the closedloop testing between the S4UVN measurement data, the IQT v2 and the calibration keydata to demonstrate adequacy, completeness and accuracy of the level0 to level1b data processing algorithms and the calibration keydata The contribution to meetings within ESA, industry and EUMETSAT In addition, the following tasks are to be performed Monitoring the development of the Level 2 Software developed through a contract Ensuring the integrity of the Level 1B and 2 ground prototype processors and its algorithms to meet the necessary functionality and performances, taking into account system, instrument, geophysical model and calibrationvalidation facility aspects and the Ground segment PDS interfaces constraints Ensuring the integrity of the L1B and L2 performance simulators developed through a contract, and maintaining an up to date operating copy at ESTEC Preparing and maintaining performance budgets and analysing impacts on the Swarm mission performances resulting from deviations during the development programme Ensuring the proper verification and validation methods are proposed and implemented Support the preparation of agreements with potential calibration facilities Support campaign and the analysis of the data collected Identifying and resolving problem areas Providing necessary inputs for the scientific meetings In performing the above duties you will closely work with the other staff of the Swarm programme.
