Software Test Engineer 1724068 SC Job Description We are looking for a Software Test Engineer to support our client ESO, in Garching bei Mnchen, Germany. You will join the Software Engineering and Quality Group SEQ in the Department of Science Operations Software SCS, which provides development teams with software engineering services, including the testing of software applications during all phases of the development lifecycle. Particular focus is on the automation of test cases wherever possible, GUI testing for desktop and web applications, and the maintenance of regression test suites. You will provide support in the following Testing software applications for the ALMA project according to ALMA standards and processes. Regularly interacting with developers and science users to collect and understand the user requirements. Producing test cases, plans, and reports. Analyzing test results, and investigating the root causes in collaboration with the developers. Maintaining the existing automated test suites. Defining, and maintaining effective test environments. The platforms used are Linux and Mac OS. Ideally you should have sufficient experience in software testing, test automation, requirements analysis, and testing of web and desktop GUI applications. You will be able to conduct manual testing, and implement fully automated tests. Testers are expected to write documentation of test tools and environments, as well as test case descriptions and test reports. You must be familiar with modern software development and test methodologies, standard software engineering practices, have good knowledge of Java programing, scripting languages e.g. UNIX Shell, Python, Groovy, and software build tools. Required Skills and Experience Proven experience testing Java Desktop GUIs under Linux andor Mac OS. Proven experience testing dynamic web applications, including JavaScriptcentric single page applications. Sufficient programming experience in Java, especially writing and improving comprehensive test cases. Proven experience with relational databases and designing SQL queries. Proven experience in the use of testing tools like Selenium or QFTest. Good knowledge of test automation. Good knowledge scripting languages, preferably Groovy andor Python. Sufficient exposure to version control systems, preferably Git. Very good command of the English language. Very good oral and written communication skills. Team spirit and eagerness to learn and understand complex operational environments. Customer orientation and a strong sense for quality development. Desirable Skills and Experience Knowledge of Unit test frameworks like Junit or TestNG. Knowledge of general purpose software testing techniques equivalence partition, combinatorial, pairwise, boundary conditions, etc.. Knowledge of JavaScript. Experience in the use of continuous integration systems e.g. Jenkins. Knowledge of administering Linux. Hyperloop One Test: Beginning of a New Transportation Era?

Hyperloop One has conducted a successful first test of a specially designed vehicle to travel in a vacuum environment. The company achieved controlled propulsion and levitation of a Hyperloop One vehicle at 70 mph on a 315-foot test track in the Nevada desert. The test vehicle reached nearly 2Gs of acceleration during its brief 5.3 second test run on the specially built track.

A vacancy for a RF Test Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Portsmouth. The Assembly Integration and Test AIT department is looking for an RF Test Engineer. This role sits within the Satellite Payload Test and Validation work stream. The RF Test Engineer is typically responsible for the preparation of the test procedures and the operational support to the AIT Operations team. Main responsibilities include the test procedure preparation in line with the test requirements prior to the delivery to the clean room, test readiness preparation, assessment and support during the test phase, evaluation for access and orientations reviews. The role includes taking part in the long term development of procedures and test procedure automation. This role would suit a post grad or early careers candidate as training will be provided. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Main role RF Test Engineer for Telecom Payload. The RF Test Engineer is typically responsible for the preparation of the test procedures that will be used for the different test phases, as well as to provide operational support to the AIT Operations team. The role also includes the support of the long term development roadmap for the products and tools used. Reporting Functionally, the role reports to the head of the Payload Test Managers Team. On project and for day to day activities, the RF Test Engineer supports the head of the Payload Test Managers, who manages the workload of the team between project preparation and support and longer term development activities. Responsibilities include As part of the RF Engineering Team, will be in charge of the preparation required for the development of a test phase and also to provide support during the alignment, section test, TCR and end to end test campaign for the different projects. To support projects and cascade knowledge to other payload test Engineers. Focal point for all procedure related activities post design customization and through to operational support possibly including out of hours oncall support Liaise with the Test Manager owner of the AIT Test preparation schedule to achieve successful project milestones reviews with associated document inputs. Support the weekly and monthly reporting to the project team and to the AIT department management team. Work handinhand with the Payload AIT Quality organization to ensure adherence to standard processes Support the engineer in charge of the project customization phase and the payload test manager in the definition the test planes and interfaces. The RF Engineer will support the investigation of nonconformances, contributing to problem solving, implementation of investigations and corrective actions as detailed by the NRB. Take an active role in the Payload AIT Test Continuous Improvement through Lessons Learnt and Second Closure We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Qualifications andor Skills An Engineering degree with a specialisation in RF Electronics Aerospace.
