A vacancy as arisen for an AIT Test Engineer with Astrium Satellites in Stevenage. The main role will be to perform electrical and test software preparation, integration, subsystem and system tests within a manual and automated test environment on bespoke nonflight and flight spacecraft hardware and software. The key responsibilities of the role are as follows Review and interpretation of electrical test requirements. Production of, test procedures and test reports. Performing electrical integration and automated test at unit, subsystem system level. Development of Automatic Test procedures ATP using bespoke high level test SW language, for execution of the test and control of the test environment. Developmental scripts using standard LINUX scripting tools to automate operations, Ensure standard satellite electrical AIT processes are applied for bespoke project specific AIT requirements, Spacecraft electrical test and support during environmental test and launch activities. Work to company and departmental procedures and maintain adherence to EN 9001. Definition of electrical test aids and overseeing the procurement, manufacture and validation. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience HNC or equivalent in an Electrical and Electronic Engineering discipline Commercial experience in an electronic test and or hardware software verification environment. Good theoretical and practical knowledge of electrical electronic testing within an automated test environment Competent software skills Experience in a bespoke test and manufacturing environment within the electrical electronic industries under high quality control. Familiar with the use of various test equipments, e.g. DMM, oscilloscope, signal generator, logic analyser, data bus monitors, etc. Current handson experience of writing software scripts for execution of the test and control of the test environment Working knowledge of Databases Good written and verbal communication skills Team Player Willingness to travel overseas where necessary Desirable skills Spacecraft electrical knowledge, Spacecraft subsystem technical knowledge and awareness, e.g. Data Handling, Packet Utilisation Standards, Data Bus Communications 1553, Spacewire, Attitude , Orbital Control, Star Trackers, Gyros, Momentum Wheels, Power systems, batteries, Solar Arrays, Thermal Control, heaters, thermostats, etc, Software Hardware compatibility testing, Electrical fault, investigatory and diagnosis experience, Competent software skills, OS WINDOWS, Unix, Linux, Awareness of cleanroom disciplines, Knowledge of and experience in a Model Based Development Verification Environment.
