Role SCISYS welcomes applications from experienced Software Project Managers to provide direction and commercial leadership within the Space division based in our Darmstadt office in Germany. We are looking for an ambitious, innovative and results driven Project Manager with a proven track record. Key responsibilities are To manage a project including people, equipment, facilities and subcontractors from initiation to close, to ensure that the project produces the required deliverables, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost. Contribute to estimation and contract or change control negotiations, as required, as well as identifying the skills, resources and tools needed for the project. Allocate tasks and roles to the project team with clear expectations in terms of outputs, schedule and effort whilst ensuring the team remain motivated for the work. Liaise with the customer regularly to ensure that their expectations are fulfilled or managed. Liaise with the Operations Manager to highlight any risks and to regularly discuss progress, alerting any exceptions and issues requiring action. Take responsibility for overall progress and use of resources and initiate corrective action where necessary. Creation and maintenance of the project plan, as well as management and reporting documentation. Manage all software licenses and intellectual property rights within the project. Desired skills Demonstrating ownership for the management of both schedule and cost covering budget and risk mitigation strategies Proven project management skills covering planning, monitoring and control, change management and delivery. Experience of managing the whole software development lifecycle specification, design, development, integration, testing, delivery and maintenance Experience of managing concurrent projects and using different methodologies or price types e.g. waterfall vs agile, firm fix price vs time materials The ability to facilitate and improve process improvement through leadership and ownership. Customer relationship management. Team player and team leader The following would be an advantage Experience of interfacing with prime and subcontractors Experience of managing contracts with customers or partners in Europe A recognised Project Management Qualification Exposure to contractual issues e.g. review of contracts, contract change Understanding of software licenses and Intellectual Property Rights Understanding of the space industry and associated technologies may be an advantage but is not a prerequisite for the role. Project Portfolio Management Support 1713071 Job Description We are looking for Support Project Managers for our client EUMETSAT. You will support the portfolio of projects and major activities either as contributions to new development Programmes or as operational Upgrade Projects. Your tasks will include Preparing dedicated Project breakdown structure and derive the associated Project Management Plan PMP which shall describe Project development logic Project lifecycle including the interrelation with its related Programme andor with other Upgrade Projects. Project Phases and planning, including the definition of the objectives for the major Project Reviews. Management processes to be implemented during the Project lifecycle. Product tree. Work Breakdown Structure WBS and associated Work Package WP descriptions, including the estimated effort required to perform the WP when applicable. Resources human and nonhuman allocated to ongoing Projects Key Performance Indicators used to monitor and control the progress of ongoing Projects Project schedule up to hand over to the related Programmes still in Phase CD or to the Operational Readiness Review of Upgrade Projects, including the identification of the Critical Path and schedule indicators. Preparation of presentations for internal and external purposes, attending the relevant Project progress meetings and documenting and tracking the decisions and actions discussed and agreed. Preparation and the execution of Project, including system engineering life cycle and processes definitions, Project Reviews from a management standpoint, as well as the organization of dedicated key checkpoints. Maintenance of the Project Schedule. Required Skills and Experience A University degree in a relevant discipline. At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in Project Management disciplines e.g. risk management, action control, reporting, planning, ideally with a PMP certification. Development life cycle system engineering. Sound knowledge of related QA processes and procedures, preferably ISO9001. Good office computing skills with a familiarity with Microsoft Office software Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project. Good interpersonal skills, Experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with the minimum of supervision. Desirable Skills and Experience Experience of working on a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment. Experience in controlling andor management of activities and resources in aerospace industry. For some tasks knowledge and experience of FinanceAccounting and workforce management may be required. Highly proficient in the use of modern activities and resource management support toolsdatabases of standard office automation support software packages including in particular advance usage of Excel MsOffice and in particular advanced use of Excel. Experience as user of SAP and in particular ECC and SRM modules and familiarity with relevant ESA corporate applications e.g. ESAp is an asset. Fluent in the English language spoken and written.
