Oilfield services company Baker Hughes Inc. says the number of rigs exploring for oil and natural gas in the U.S. declined by 22 this week to 932 amid depressed oil prices. Houston-based Baker Hughes said Friday 703 rigs were seeking oil and 225 explored for natural gas.

Canada's Rogers Communications Inc posted an unexpected 17 percent drop in quarterly profit on Monday as the cable, phone and media company struggled to hold on to customers during a period of industry-wide turbulence. During the quarter, the Toronto-based company had to deal with regulatory changes in both its wireless and television markets.

OnePlus sells over 1 mln phones, drops invites for sales

(Telecompaper) OnePlus has opened up sales of its smartphone to the general public and no longer requires an invite to purchase the OnePlus One. Earlier this year it started allowing open sales every Tuesday, and now the phone will be freely available to buy any day of the week from the OnePlus website. The company said it's sold over 1 million of the phones since the launch a year ago and grown to over 700 employees. It's now preparing to launch its next device, the OnePlus Two smartphone, which will launch later this year, initially with invites too.

China Mobile Q1 profit drops 5.6% to CNY 23.8 bln

(Telecompaper) China Mobile saw its first-quarter revenues grow 3.9 percent year-on-year to CNY 160.8 billion, and EBITDA rose 2.8 percent to CNY 59.1 billion. EBITDA margin declined to 36.8 percent from 37.2 a year ago. Net profit dropped 5.6 percent to CNY 23.8 billion.
