Community Fibre pledges GBP 400 million investment in London after securing new investors

(Telecompaper) London-based fibre broadband provider Community Fibre has announced a GBP 400 million investment to accelerate the roll-out of full-fibre broadband to one million homes and businesses across London by 2023. The company provides 1 Gbps fibre connections to households and up to 10 Gbps connections to businesses.

Poste Italiane picks Vodafone for mobile services, TIM and Open Fiber for new fibre venture

(Telecompaper) The Italian post office (Poste Italiane) announced new contracts with Telecom Italia (TIM) and wholesale operator Open Fiber to bring fixed line high-speed broadband services to residents and businesses all over the country, above all in digital divide areas. "Thanks to this agreement, Poste Italiane will provide the country with fibre-optic services using ultra-broadband technologies, combining the capillarity of the post office network with the expansion of TIM's fibre network throughout the country," confirmed TIM in a brief statement.

Oi to open up fibre infrastructure to third parties

(Telecompaper) Oi is developing an end-to-end business model that will allow third parties to contract its fibre to the home infrastructure, announced wholesale director Andre Telles, according to Valor Economico. The model is part of Oi's reorganisation strategy that foresees the creation of two separate, independent and complementary companies. Oi Client Co would be responsible for providing services to residential and business clients, while Infra Co would offer infrastructure on a neutral basis to the market, including to Oi's competitors.
