WOM, GTD and Mundo Pacifico bid for Chile's national fibre projects

(Telecompaper) Chilean telecommunications regulator Subtel has received bids from the operators WOM, GTD and Mundo Pacifico for the six contracts to build the country's National Fibre Optic (FON) network. The initiative is designed to double the current capacity of the country's fibre-optic network by rolling out 10,000 kilometres of cables across 13 regions, with 202 access nodes spread across a total of 186 localities.

Over fifth of Dutch households want to move to fibre - study

(Telecompaper) Over one fifth of the Dutch said in November 2019 that their household was either planning or wanted to switch to fibre technology (FTTH) for their internet connection, more than double the number two years before, according to the latest study by Telecompaper based on its Consumer Insights panel.

Dutch operators planning fibre connections for 1.3 mln more homes

(Telecompaper) Dutch operators are preparing to connect around 1.36 million more households to FTTH, according to research by Telecompaper. While KPN remains the biggest operator and is actively expanding, several other operators are also actively planning expansion on the Dutch fibre market.
