TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The main tasks and responsibilities will include Identify opportunities and barriers to the space data use at startup level, and develop tools for application developers which could overcome such barriers Contribute to matchmaking of startups and new ventures with large potential customers in the private and public sector, providing first opportunities for the innovations to be deployed in a commercial set up Analyse the access to finance opportunities for startups and design a specific network of financing actors e.g. network of Venture Capitalists focused on the EU space downstream applications, leveraging private and public financial instruments, including EU initiatives Implement an acceleration program targeting the generation of new innovative solutions and business models, and the creation of new startups leveraging space data Implement the future entrepreneurship strategy for EUSPA, defining clear scope and milestones of the startups support on an annual basis, as well as metrics for monitoring the results Coordinating hackathons and calls for innovation prizes and other actions related to the ideation phase, building awareness of the EU Space programs among innovators and entrepreneurs Manage a mentoring program, matchmaking investors with industrial partnerships, including the coordination of private investors, targeting the scale up of SMEs and startups. Furthermore, the Space Downstream Entrepreneurship Officer will contribute to other tasks of the Department as deemed necessary and to the overall Agency processes such as quality management and reporting. The job holder will focus on so called Copernicus other users, especially on commercial and business users who have not been the primary target of Copernicus so far, and on specific priority market segments. The job holder will work in close cooperation with the Market Development team experts and other external stakeholders, such as the Copernicus Entrusted Entities. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The main tasks and responsibilities will include Identify and analyse the market and the user needs of commercialbusiness users of satellite imaging, earth observation, remote sensing, and nourishing the technology and market monitoring process Ensure an indepth technical understanding of how the Copernicus services, products and data can be translated in endtoend solutions, including data management and related technologies Design and implement roadmaps for uptake by industrial ecosystem market segment, creating synergies with European Global Navigation Satellite Systems EGNSS and other EU Space Programme Components Help business and commercial users to understand how Copernicus based solutions in synergy with EGNSS will enable them achieve their strategic and financial goals Support prospective users to justify their investment, via testing, pilots, Cost Benefit Analyses CBAs, etc. Identify champions and quick wins in the most promising new markets, and build a solid partnership towards the adoption Develop innovative business cases and financial models aimed at accelerating the uptake in new markets Advise the team market segment managers on the value proposition of Copernicus in their domain Manage Research and Innovation downstream projects in the field of innovative applications and user technology, leveraging them for the final goal of fostering the Copernicus uptake Furthermore, the Space Downstream market officer will contribute to other tasks of the Department as deemed necessary, and to the overall GSA processes such as quality management and reporting. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The main tasks and responsibilities will include Understand and structure the RI space downstream priorities, leveraging all existing market and technology intelligence processes already present in the Agency, as well as analysing in depth all new technology trends, constantly consulting the users, industry and academic research Act as a users coordinator and a bridge with market experts, making RI a tool for the EU Space Downstream uptake, fostering the synergies and the integrated applications Propose and implement new RI tools, evaluating the feasibility, budget implications and impact Coordinate and operationally perform activities for the preparation of calls, launches, evaluation up to the formal agreement Coordinate specific projects as well as the project portfolio, using project management methodologies and specific tools from Horizon Europe Design and measure KPIs for the assessment of intermediate and final results, following the benchmarking of stateoftheart practices Coach and support the companies involved in the projects via business development and leverage the market development expertise in the team Support transversally the other project officers in different areas e.g. grant agreement preparation, expert reviewers setup, milestones and payment preparation, etc. Report internally in the Agency and to external stakeholders on the results and budget implementation, including different audits Prepare success stories, portfolio presentations, and other highquality content for dissemination.
