Amazon Web Services has grown its lead over rival public cloud providers, while Microsoft experienced 96% year-on-year growth in 2014. Analyst Synergy estimated quarterly cloud infrastructure service revenues - including infrastructure as a service , platform as a service, private cloud and hybrid cloud - have reached the $5bn milestone, with trailing 12-month revenues exceeding $16bn.
