Average industrial demand for gas in 2015 was expected to increase nearly 4 percent over 2014, according to federal energy forecasts.

The Dow Jones was up 0.2 per cent as US investors generally welcomed a statement from Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen that while US interest rates were likely to rise in 2015 the pace of monetary tightening would be measured.
