Satellite Operations Engineer for Sentinel3 2 positions

We are looking for two Satellite Operations Engineers one Senior, one Junior with experience on Low Earth Orbit LEO, 3 axis stabilised spacecraft and experience with SCOS 2K and MOIS. Both positions are permanent and fulltime and fully located on customer side in EUMETSAT, Darmstadt, Germany. Submission deadline for applicants is 4th of March. The expected start date is between May and July. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES The tasks of the Key person will typically include Support to the commissioning and routine operations of Sentinel 3A, and preparing for Sentinel3B comprising Provision of operational expertise platform subsystems andor payload instruments andor onboard software management, satellite simulator and ground segment operations interfaces Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures, including the update and operational validation of procedures releases in a configuration controlled environment Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments, including definition and possibly prototyping of additional analysis checks where necessary Investigations into satellite anomalies. This may require a close cooperation with the Post launch Support Office PLSO in ESTEC and space industry Support the coordination of partner agency interactions for relevant subsystemsinstruments Participation in the satellite oncall support rota Identification and support to implementation of system and process improvements concerning the Spacecraft Operations Team responsibilities and interfaces. Support to the system and operations preparation of sentinel3 C and D satellites Provide inputs and I or review the definition of system and satellite operational concepts Review space to ground interface specifications and flight operations manuals Support the definition of tools and processes required to prepare for and operate the satellites. Support to the system and operations preparation of other LEO satellites Provide operations preparation support as required to the Sentinel6 development. QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE Satellite operations engineer with experience on Low Earth Orbit LEO, 3 axis stabilised spacecraft and experience with SCOS 2K and MOIS ESSENTIAL SKILLS Fluency in English Experience of at least 2 years of Spacecraft Operations on Low Earth Orbit LEO, 3 axis stabilised spacecraft with responsibility for one or more platform subsystems or instruments during operational validation, commissioning or routine operations phases Experience of at least 1 years of SCOS2000 mission control system and use of the MOIS operations preparation tool Demonstrated experience in satellite performance monitoring and reporting aspects including anomaly analysis and solving in liaison with satellite industry, procedure change control and configuration management processes Experience in the operation or development of satellite ground segment facilities, in particular procedure development, monitor and control, mission planning, onboard software management, performance analysis, configuration management and simulator facilities. DESIRABLE SKILLS Specification of system and operational concepts, facility requirements Familiarity with OnBoard Control Procedure and OnBoard Position Scheduler concepts Familiarity with the ECSS Packet Utilisation Standard, customisation and usage Familiarity with system change control and configuration management procedures Data analysis software packages such as MATLAB File parsing languages such as PERL, A WK Use of VBA for development of adhoc tools in MS Office applications BENEFITS Competitive salary plus a comprehensive benefits package including 30 days holiday, generous training possibilities and Telespazio VEGA Deutschland pension scheme is offered to the successful candidate. Radio Navigation Engineer 2 positions Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Radio Navigation System Implementation Verification Sectionat ESTEC you will have the following responsibilitiesthe design, analysis, implementation and testing of radio navigation systems, with emphasis on system architecture and performance, GNSS security and on radio navigation receivers. Tasks will included GNSS System implementation and verification including ground segment control and processing facilities and GNSS security In particular for Galileo, participation in studies, simulations and laboratory testing for the assessment of system endtoend functionalities and performance, including measurement campaigns, data processing and field testing, also applied to radio navigation receivers design and techniques Support to the Galileo project in the monitoring of industrial contracts for the development of radio navigation tools and equipment including receivers and for studies on radio navigation, including generating technical requirements and statements of work. Skills and Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Masters Degree in Telecom Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Aerospace Engineering Specific knowledge in the design and testing of Radio Navigation systems and equipment including receivers Strong knowledge in design of satellite navigation systems, ranging and positioning techniques, RF, signal processing techniques, and digital navigation receivers in addition to GNSS security and processing facilities Several years of experience on GNSS and Galileo systems and equipment and a good knowledge of Radio Navigation simulation and testing systems Solid experience in the implementation, maintenance and operation of complex Radio Navigation processing, simulation and test facilities for spacecraft, aircraft, maritime and land mobile applications Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
