(Telecompaper) The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has announced that the agency will invest an additional USD 2 billion over the next two years to support broadband networks in United States' schools and libraries. This represents a doubling of investment in broadband and will connect 20 million students in at least 15,000 schools to broadband access. Funding for new investments in broadband will come from reprioritising existing E-Rate funds to focus on high-capacity internet connectivity, increasing efficiency and modernising management of the E-Rate programme.

A New Approach To Wireless Broadband Technology For IoT

2014-01-31 08:52:19| rfglobalnet Downloads

Wi-Fi has been incredibly successful in making wireless broadband communication ubiquitous among mobile computing devices like laptops and smart phones. Wi-Fi’s cost-effective, IP-based flat architecture (i.e. a simple wireless extension to Ethernet) is a primary contributor to this success. A positive spiral of R&D investments and manufacturing scale and efficiencies are pushing Wi-Fi’s price-performance ratio to unprecedented levels. This trend will continue for the foreseeable future.
