Consumers Energy announced Friday it plans on building an employee training center near Grand Valley State University's Seidman College of Business on Front Avenue SW. The Michigan utility plans on leasing a parcel of land, about one-third of an acre, from GVSU to construct the building.

Consumers Energy to install buoys below dams for safety

Consumers Energy is working with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to install buoys to help warn the public to stay out of potentially unsafe areas immediately downstream of hydro-electric dams. The unit of Jackson-based CMS Energy Corp. says Friday it plans to put in buoys this month at the Foote, Cooke, and Croton dams.
