Location ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands Description EMC Harness Engineer in the EMC Harness Section,Power Systems, EMC and Space Environment Division,Electrical Department, Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality. The EMC Harness Section provides functional support to ESA projects and carries out technological research RD in the fields of electromagnetic compatibility EMC, magnetic cleanliness and harness. It is the focal point for electrical harness design and engineering. Duties Reporting to the Head of Section and within the technical fields described above, the main tasks and responsibilities of the post holder will include providing expert technical support and consultancy to ESA projects, programmes and general studies in the field of EMC and harness throughout all project phases defining and analysing EMC and harness requirements assessing and reviewing harness designs evaluating test results, nonconformances and waiver requests supporting troubleshooting activities for spacecraft equipment and systems for EMC and harness issues participating in feasibility studies, project reviews and evaluation of procurement proposals identifying critical development problems and assisting in their resolution contributing to the definition of technology development requirements and work plans for the Agencys technology programmes defining, initiating and managing RD activities covering both long and shortterm needs fostering new application areas for multidisciplinary activities, placing emphasis on innovative concepts, cuttingedge technologies and system architectures laboratory activities as required applying EMC and simulation tools and evaluating the obtained results monitoring applicable scientific and technological trends and maintaining a stateoftheart expertise contributing to the dissemination of the results of the activities performed and the transfer of knowledge across the Agency.
