The duties include the administration and operation of the central archive systems, administration of backup and Unix systems, maintenance of the external storage, inventory and support to the operation of the storage and computing services. We are seeking an experienced Data Storage Services System Software Engineer to provide support to EUMETSAT in the development and maintenance of the storage systems making up EUMETSATs Storage Network Infrastructure SNI, with special focus on archive and retrieval services. The EUMETSAT SNI provides a backbone of storage services to all EUMETSATs programs, unified under a management framework. It satisfies storage service requirements in terms of size, performance, redundancy, availability, security, supporting meteorological archive, data protection and disaster recovery. Responsibilities As a Data Storage Services System Software Engineer, your tasks will include the administration and operation of the central archive systems, maintenance of the external storage, inventory and support to the operation of the storage services.
