Flight Dynamics Mission Analysis Interplanetary and Lagrange Point Missions 2023033 Job Description We are looking for a Flight Dynamics engineer for our client, ESOC. You will work in the Mission Analysis team, and focus mainly on Interplanetary and LaGrange Point missions. If necessary, you may also support other aspects related to Lunar Missions, Libration Point Missions or other tasks in the Flight Dynamics domain. The general activities to be supported by the service are depending on the phase of the mission Mission Analysis Trajectory Optimisation for interplanetary transfer and science phases Navigation and Guidance, including Optical Navigation for Mission Analysis Concurrent Design Studies for space missions Mission Analysis Tools Development, environmental models, numerical integration techniques, local and global optimisation techniques and algorithms, covariance and MonteCarlo analysis Support to project, scientists and industry, participation in reviews General Flight Dynamics operations engineering activities In order to contribute to the team, you should have experience and knowledge in Trajectory Optimisation, including the multibody problem Navigation and Guidance techniques for Mission Analysis activities, Software Development C, Python, modern software development tools like git, CICD, CMake, docker and parallel computation techniques Mission Analysis Tools Development local and global optimisation techniques and algorithms, covariance and MonteCarlo analysis, environmental models, numerical integration techniques Knowledge about operational and ground segment aspect in the missionarchitecture design Required Skills and Experience University degree in a relevant engineering field, astronomy, mathematics or physics Minimum 3 years experience Skills to apply their knowledge to develop solutions to technical mathematical and dynamical problems in cooperation with customers and other experts Experience with mission analysis related tasks trajectory design, optimisation and computation, navigation and associated prpducts, especially for Lagrange point andor interplanetary missions Ability to define, implement, validate and operate software which applies the above solutions using e.g. Unix andor Linux scripting languages, Python, C Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Ability to work independently Desirable Skills and Experience Familiarity with the ESOC environment Familiarity with modern software development tools git, CICD, CMake, docker Experience with Linux, network services and protocols, system administration, modern software development tools Will to take operational responsibility in multidiscipline teams The ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously. For a new service position within flight dynamics division we are searching for a flight dynamics authority to complement our international service team! You will provide support to the Mission Analysis section primarily for Lagrange Point Interplanetary missions plus Lunar and Libration Point missions if needed. This includes the trajectory optimisation for interplanetary transfer and science phases and navigationguidance, including optical navigation. Furthermore, you will support concurrent design studies for future space missions and contribute to the mission analysis tools development. Skills to apply above knowledge to develop solutions to technical problems in cooperation with customers and other specialists. Knowledge about operational and ground segment aspects in the missionarchitecture design. Desire to extend technical skills. A high sense of operational responsibility and good communication skills.
