The regulator is to auction licences to use 190 MHz of spectrum in two frequency bands, increasing the airwaves available for mobile devices by almost one third. 40 MHz of spectrum will be auctioned in the 2.3GHz band. Dutch operators lose appeal over termination rates method

(Telecompaper) Dutch operators have lost a long-running appeal against the method used by the regulator ACM to set termination rates. The corporate appeals court (CBb) sided with the regulator's choice of the pure Bulric method recommended by the European Commission, rather than Bulric plus as advocated by the operators. The latter takes account of more general network costs, allowing for higher termination rates.
Top 50 operators take two-thirds of global pay TV subs

Pay TV subscriptions for 522 operators reached 839 million in 2016 or 87% of the 959 million global subscribers, and the top 50 operators accounted for two-thirds of the total, according to Digital TV Research.
