RadioShack Corp. has delayed paying January rent on some stores as it works to conserve cash during its restructuring effort, according to people familiar with the matter. The Fort Worth, Texas, consumer-electronics retailer is preparing to file for bankruptcy protection next month and has reached out to potential lenders that could fund its operations during a Chapter 11 restructuring, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday .

The government agency said in a news release that the airline "failed to offer passengers on 16 aircraft delayed at Chicago Midway International Airport the opportunity to deplane within three hours of arrival" in a series of incidents in January 2014. Department of Transportation rules mandate that airlines may not allow tarmac delays of over three hours on domestic flights without providing passengers the opportunity to deplane.

Weather causes delays on 2 Metra lines, CTA Orange Line

A freight locomotive on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe line caught on fire early Friday morning near Naperville, halting trains in the area, authorities said. Trains were moving again by 9 a.m. but the fire added to delays that began around 6:55 a.m. when a train was stopped in Lisle because of weather conditions, according to the Metra website.
