Package description Highly competitive salary Corporate Benefits Package Relocation Assistance if applicable Further information available from the Serco Europe Recruitment Team Main responsibilities This activity is intended to support the whole Payload Data Ground Segment implementation cycle, covering the system requirements definition phase the architectural design and elements requirements definition phase the implementation plan definition phase the Elements Industrial Procurement phase the PDGS Integration and Validation testing phase the System Validation Phase the Commissioning phase Tasks Activities The following tasks shall be performed by the Engineer Support the preparation of the PDGS Mission Implementation Plan Contribute to the PDGS design phase through the generation of the PDGS Design Documents PDGS System Requirements Document, PDGS System Architecture Document, PDGS Operations Concept Document, Interface Requirements Documents, SubSystems High Level Requirements Support to the preparation of the PDGS SubSystems implementation documentation Coordination of the acceptance by the PDGS Project of any Customer Furnished Items CFIs Coordination of the acceptance by the PDGS Project of the PDGS SubSystems Generation of technical notes whenever needed during the Project lifetime Participation to Ground Segment Reviews Support the PDGS Project Manager in evaluating the results of the PDGS Integration and Validation testing activity Support the PDGS Project Manager in the participation to the System Verification tests Ideal candidate The ideal candidate should bring the following skills and experience University degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in Remote Sensing and Earth Observation Project management experience, preferably in the field of Earth Observation Ground Segment Development Knowledge of the Earth Observation missions and instruments and processes related to their PDGS development would be an asset. Knowledge of relevant Engineering standards , e.g. ECSS Experience with requirements Management tools e.g. Rational DOORs or similar Knowledge of relevant Engineering standards Ability to write technical documents and converse in English Good communication skills and ability to work in international teams Important Any offer of employment is contingent upon you providing documents to verify your identity and employment eligibility, as required by law. Senior Engineer, Program Implementation Luxembourg Betzdorf Role description summary The Senior Engineer, Program Implementation contributes to the HTS System end to end project team in facilitating the implementation of HTS system end to end for the first GEO SES fully digital satellite SES17. The program implementation engineer shall ensure that the GEO infrastructure deployed is coherent with the MEO mPOWER infrastructure and can be used as a base for future SESNext infrastructure. You will support the program manager to ensure timely delivery and execution of HTS Ground System requirements. You will support the management of implementation of all work streams for HTS Ground System. You will work in interaction with key suppliers with ongoing development teleport antenna, platform and SDRM as well as in interaction with internal stakeholders to ensure IT infrastructure is timely developed. Primary responsibilities key result areas Drive timely delivery execution and delivery of HTS Ground System requirements Track development and implementation of HTS System work streams and report deviations Prepare and approve critical design, tests phases and implementation milestone Actively cooperate in cross functional teams technical, asset management, digital transformation office to facilitate the implementation of resources management softwarebased tools Approve key technical system procurement steps while working with an experienced team Technically support product, asset management and sales teams as needed Monitor and report on contractual financial and legal program status Prepare briefing for upper management on program progress and issues if any on a weekly basis Day to day program issues are understood and communicated to functional manager and teams Develop adequate reporting to ensure communication within cross functional team Identify gaps on the execution plan and propose mitigation actions Program action items are adequately addressed and closed Qualifications Experience Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Information Technology or related scientificengineering fields 5 years experience in Programme management implementation related field Commitment to deadlines and willingness to meet tight development schedules Essential experience Work with cross functional teams Master explaining complex concepts to nontechnical stakeholders Proven knowledge and practical experience of satellite communication systems Programming languages experience Highly desirable experience several of the following Program and procurement experience Quality assurance and supply chain management experience Experience with Agile methodologies for software development Focus on collaboration and teamwork Proven mindset of helping others to succeedmentoring Proven work attitude Highly motivated and ability to set priorities and to work under tight deadlines towards a longterm objective Work autonomously and independently, taking initiatives if required as well as proven ability to work as a team player Easiness to communicate at all levels Whats in it for you?
