Telenor mulls India ops sale for USD 1.8 bln - report

(Telecompaper) Telenor plans to sell its telecom operations in India. The operator is looking for a valuation ranging between USD 1.6 billion and USD 1.8 billion (approximately INR 110 120 billion), The Economic Times reports, citing two unnamed people familiar with the matter. However, market experts claim Telenor may at best be able to get around USD 1 billion (INR 68 billion), with spectrum being the main saleable asset. A Telenor spokesperson declined to comment.

(Telecompaper) The SoftBank Group has started a major company-wide reorganisation, positioning its two core businesses, namely domestic operations and global operations, as future growth drivers. According to the new strategic direction, Nikesh Arora will head the group's global operations management company and Ken Miyauchi its domestic operations management company in Japan. The two will concurrently serve as representative director, president & COO of SBG, and director of SBG respectively.
