We are a young, Monacobased enterprise in the field of small satellites, with our own production facility and team. We launched our first satellite last year and have additional projects in the pipeline. We are looking for a versatile, embedded software engineer with experience in small satellites for a fulltime position starting in the next few months. Only candidates from within Europe will be considered. The job is based in Monaco, but the candidate may choose to live in nearby France. If you fit the bill and are potentially interested, we would be delighted to hear from you. As an embedded software engineer, the candidate will join a collaborative team to develop innovative small satellite solutions for multiple projects. The individual will be responsible for hardware development during all phases of a development cycle, including requirements, design, implementation, test, integration and documentation in a fastpaced environment. Additionally, as is common in a startup environment, tasks may extend beyond the original job description. This allows everyone to gain a better understanding of all aspects of the business from engineering to sales. Employees are expected to take initiative and be responsible for their own daytoday planning and workload. Specific tasks will include Working in a small, multidisciplinary team to develop solutions for ongoing and future projects. Participating in hardware requirements, design, implementation, and testing discussions. Participating in team discussions involving vehicle architecture and design for ongoing and future projects. Constructing, developing, and testing software applications, drivers, or middleware in a lowpower embedded environment. Participating in software requirements generation, design, implementation, and testing discussion with multiple team members. Integrating developed software with hardware test platforms, preexisting software, and new software developed by other team members. Maintaining new and preexisting software solutions to enhance feature sets and to consistently improve overall stability. Assessing various project opportunities REQUIREMENTS Minimum 3 years experience as an embedded software engineer, preferably in a satellite avionics design capacity, preferably with small satellites. Specialization in embedded software development, preferably with experience in mobile and lowpower SOC platforms, such as OMAP, DaVinci, AVR, and SAM series. Additional experience developing baremetal firmware with microcontrollers is desirable. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, selfstarting, enthusiastic, and can perform duties autonomously. BS CS, CPE, EE, or equivalent degree required. MS in appropriate field e.g., CS, EE preferred Experience with and using standard electronics equipment required oscilloscope, power supply, logic analyzer, etc. Experience with embedded OS development preferred, including but not limited to Linux andor RTOS Experience with common opensource configuration management and test tools, such as subversion, git, mercurial, GDB, perf, valgrind Experience with opensource environments and development tools, such as Linux, GNU crosscompiler toolchains, and IDEs e.g., Eclipse Good knowledge of Python Knowledgeable in the area of communication protocols at all layers, such as I2C, SPI, USART, and TCPIP protocols High competency developing in CC languages Familiarity with objectoriented design and programming Familiarity with iterative, agile, and waterfall software development processes Familiarity with major stages of the software development cycle, including requirements generation, construction, design, implementation, and test Excellent interpersonal skills and welldeveloped written and oral skills to effectively communicate and participate in discussions with other team members Versatility, ability to learn new processes and tools quickly and utilize them effectively Proficient use of written and oral English language is mandatory Good communication with team members, and ability to provide and receive constructive criticism. Professional use of written and oral English language is mandatory. Ability to travel and work at partners or customers locations infrequently. PREFERRED Experience with the full development cycle of a CubeSat mission. Good connections within the CubeSat community. Versatility. Conversational French is a plus. Amateur Radio license holder is a plus. Enjoys outreach activities.

Work with board houses to coordinate fabrication and assembly of new designs. Board bringup and test, including inhouse soldering of prototypes. Develop assembly procedures, test plans, and fabrication documentation. Electrical support for spacecraft Assembly, Integration and Test in a cleanroom environment. Assessing various project opportunities REQUIREMENTS BS or MS in CPE, EE or equivalent degree required. Minimum 3 years experience as an electronic engineer, preferably in a satellite avionics design capacity. Experience with electronics CAD software for schematic capture and layout. Experience using standard electrical test equipment oscilloscope, power supply, logic analyzer. Knowledgeable about common physical layer protocols I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet. Working level understanding of basic RF systems such as modern integrated RF ICs. Experience working with flight hardware in a controlled environment cleanliness and ESD. Ability to work methodically in a lab environment to maintain cleanliness and organization. Experience with soldering down to 0402 for prototyping, debug and board modifications as needed. Good communication with team members, and ability to provide and receive constructive criticism. Professional use of written and oral English language is mandatory. Ability to travel and work at partners or customers locations infrequently. PREFERRED Experience with the full development cycle of a CubeSat mission. Good connections within the CubeSat community. Thorn SDS is a niche provider of specialist engineering services within the European Space Sector. At Thorn SDS you are a big part of a small team. Thorn SDS is part of the incumbent System Operations Engineering team based onsite at EUMETSAT providing services focussed on real time endtoend mission operations and the systems required to support them, including communications networks, operational infrastructure, operation security training and interfacing with Flight Operations. The services support the routine operational phases of EUMETSAT MSG and EPS systems, Copernicus systems as well as to support the preparation of future missions including MTG. We are bidding to retain these services and part of our solution enables us to showcase 1 or 2 high quality new candidates that we will propose join our team, on or around June 2022, to address the expanding client requirements. Whilst we are aware that it is impractical to completely commit to such a timescale, we are seeking candidates that are applying in the full knowledge that this is the likely time scale and can therefore plan accordingly. The role is based at our clients facility ESAESOC, Darmstadt and is a fabulous opportunity for an individual with excellent communication skills in English, to work on a number of hugely interesting programmes. The scope of the role is wide ranging and may include elements of routine operations services, operations preparations services and operations training. The tasks and responsibilities can be broken down as below System and ground segment operations Communications and networks operations System monitoring and reporting Operations security, infrastructure and training Multimission tools mass storage and archiving Implementation, verification and validation VV of systems and their evolutions Systems operations preparation and VV for new satellite systems Anomaly investigation Preparation and maintenance of operations documentation Training of operational personnel for systems operations Definition and development of operational concepts System VV activities for future satellite systems To be successful in this role we would expect you to have a university degree in an engineering discipline and proven experience in Earth Observation EO ground segments and systems operations in an operational environment. You should have a minimum two years of experience in system operations of EO missions covering a number of the disciplines listed in the tasks and responsibilities above and additionally, experience in the system operations engineering of complex EO ground segments and experience of VV of such systems. The role will develop with different missions so we are looking for engineers who can demonstrate initiative and flexibility in a fastpaced environment, perhaps already familiar with the EUMETSAT or ESA environment. Many of the systems operate with UNIXLinux operating systems so knowledge of this in an operational environment is a core requirement. You should be systematic in your approach to work, able to plan and cope with tight schedules you should be able to communicate articulately in English and be able to write accurate, concise, focussed and consistent technical documentation. Eutelsat takes stake in OneWeb following launch of 36 satellites

Last weekend, OneWeb launched 36 new LEO satellites into orbit, increasing the size of its constellation to 182. This launch follows a previous launch around a month ago that also sent 36 satellites into orbit.
