Senior Engineer, Global Services Network Operations

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Senior Engineer, Network Operations plays a critical role in supporting the 247 shift of the SES Global Services Network Operations Center, ensuring end to end operational lifecycle of fixed data customer services and infrastructure. The Senior Engineer collaborates with operations, engineering, infrastructure, tools and customer facing organizations to ensure contracted SLAs are upheld and leaves SESs customers satisfied with Managed Services operations. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring Incident management and reporting process adherence and compliance as well as to mentor and train the support teams to the highest level to support multiple technologies and services in a consistent and measurable fashion. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Provide Level3 equivalent support to shift teams in troubleshooting incidents by analyzing the troubleshooting data and providing experienced feedback on next actions before engaging next Level support Design and develop training and competency assessment in line with reporting manager towards the shift teams RF engineers to ensure each teams ability to support multiple technologies, processes and services are at par with Global Services standards Liaise with other technical teams to ensure all procedures, training, checklists, workarounds, etc. remain complete and relevant Liaise and maintain technical knowledge on par with external teams in IT, Gateway Services, Sales Engineering, Asset Management, Payload Management, and other level 3 teams as required to manage the tickets Create technical documentation to assist the NOC shift engineers with daily incident troubleshooting and resolution. Provide technical input to the Service Improvement team and lead the Problem Management initiative from within the NOC. Identify problems and liaise with the appropriate Engineering team to find appropriate and permanent solutions Document and maintain a lessonslearned database and ensure a constant culture of improvement. Senior Engineer, Network Services Luxembourg Betzdorf Your role You will be working in the Operations Services group and will be responsible for the deployment of network products and services, expanding the satellite communications to truly endtoend solutions. You will work with customers to ensure that network services Managed Security, SDWAN, WIFI, VoIP, LTE are integrated and operated along requirements, coordinate with the Network Operations Engineers the commissioning of the MEO GEO satellite communications and provide incident resolution solutions to NOC for systems deployed. Your responsibilities Participation in multiple parallel customer projects, Post Sales through to Customer Acceptance Configuration, testing, implementation of SES Products and Services Integrate satcom systems with multiple vendor components and products Work with Engineering Product Development Teams, represent the division and participate in the growth of the SES portfolio and the improvement of customer products Provide at Level 3 incident troubleshooting, handson testing and resolution services to the Network Operations Centre, interact with vendors to resolve problems and bugs Work with Network Planning on capacity management and reporting, define delivery schedules and manage time accordingly Audit and assess network against customer service requirements and best practices Develop procedures, instructions and provide training for the Network Operations Centre Train young engineers and trainees Your profile BSc or MSc in TelecomNetwork Engineering or Computer Science required Proven professional experience of minimum 7 to 10 years in designing, building RAN Networks and deploying a quality of service within a network Understanding of VoIP technologies, experience with some wireless technologies WiFiWiMaxWAP LTE Proven experience with network analysis and with SNMP, NTP, DNS, SSH, etc Knowledge of IEEE Standards, such as 802.11 bgnac, understanding of BGP, OSPF and MPLS, Layer 2 3 VPNs and IPsec Familiarity with the Juniper and or CiscoMeraki product lines certifications are an asset Good working knowledge of WAN Optimization Products Experience in the usage of traffic analytics and traffic shaping systems considered as an asset Experience of dealing directly with customers and managing expectations Experience of integrating communication systems with multiple vendor components and providing tested end to end managed services Knowledge of Satellitebased communication systems considered as an advantage You are selfstarter and result oriented You are agile and resilient, able to face the various obstacles and challenges that come accross and find suitable solutions You are very collaborative and know how to inspire other team members ExcellentGood command of MS Office package Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio Fluency in English, any other language is considered as an asset Willingness to travel internationally.
