The owners of the San Onofre nuclear plant have reached a $400 million settlement with Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited for outages at the facility caused by the failure of replacement steam generators. Pedro Pizarro, president of Southern California Edison, a majority owner of San Onofre, said the settlement resolves the San Onofre owners' claims under the insurance issued by NEIL.

Ratepayers are suing Southern California Edison and state electric power regulators for $3 billion over a plan to divvy up the costs of shuttering the facility.
