Telenet extends MVNO deal with Orange through 2018

(Telecompaper) Telenet has agreed to pay Orange Belgium a minimum EUR 150 million to end their MVNO agreement by the end of 2018. Telenet has used the Orange network since 2006 to provide its mobile services, but now wants to migrate customers to its own network, since it acquired the operator Base earlier this year. The new agreement will see the Full MVNO service provided by Orange to Telenet run until the end of 2018, compared to a previous deadline of 2017. Telenet committed to a minimum payment of EUR 150 million (excluding VAT) over the period 2016-2018. The actual amount paid by Telenet could exceed this in the event of higher network usage.

(Telecompaper) AT&T and Virgin Media plan to launch mobile virtual network operations in India. AT&T and Virgin have expressed their interest to launch mobile services in India, initially in the form of an MVNO, ET reports, citing unnamed Indian government sources. According to one of these sources, the entry could be a "precursor to a larger gameplan" as the two operators, especially AT&T, may plan to participate in the spectrum auctions scheduled for in the second half of this year.
