Structures Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities You will have the following responsibilities Support the generation and setup of structural mathematical models using the finite element method for structural analysis problems for Agencyfunded projects, taking into account the specific objectives of such analysis, covering all structural materials applied in spacecraft and launchers. Where necessary nonlinear approaches and specific solution sequences shall be applieddeveloped e.g. Nastran SOL 600, SamcefMecano, Abaqus Perform stability analysis leading to the determination of buckling loads and deformations. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience A university degree or equivalent in aerospace or mechanical engineering Several years of experience in the field of light structures for all relevant structural materials, loads derivation and modelling Adequate knowledge in the employment of the following software Nastran including nonlinear, DMAPs etc., Patran, DCAP, Simpack, Dytran, SamcefMecano, Abaqus, STORM or others as necessary to cover the analyses required. Qualifications and Requirements Applicants require a minimum of a Masters degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline together with a minimum of 4 years working within a structures environment. Specific Competence Requirements Responsible for the generation of the finite element mathematical models shall be a structural analysts with several years of experience in the field of light structures for all relevant structural materials, loads derivation and modelling in the above relevant fields. For one of our customers in the Netherlands we are looking for candidates that fulfill the following requirements Tasks and Responsibilities Assist the Agency in the implementation of Structural Engineering for all Agency projects and programs throughout all the development phases, ranging from conceptual design studies to Flight Acceptance Reviews. This task includes providing support to projects with respect to definition of specifications, support to design reviews, support to structural test programs, etc. Assist the Agency in solving specific structural design, and verification issues encountered by ESA projects. Assist in the identification of enabling structures technology activities for future ESA missions relevant to the ESA future mission planning, including definition of requirements Support and contribute to the establishment and maintenance of relevant Structures Engineering Standards and Handbooks.
