For one of our customers in the Netherlands we are looking for candidates that fulfill the following requirements Tasks and Responsibilities Assist the Agency in the implementation of Structural Engineering for all Agency projects and programs throughout all the development phases, ranging from conceptual design studies to Flight Acceptance Reviews. This task includes providing support to projects with respect to definition of specifications, support to design reviews, support to structural test programs, etc. Assist the Agency in solving specific structural design, and verification issues encountered by ESA projects. Assist in the identification of enabling structures technology activities for future ESA missions relevant to the ESA future mission planning, including definition of requirements Support and contribute to the establishment and maintenance of relevant Structures Engineering Standards and Handbooks. Experience and Education Experience in structural design, testing and analysis Familiar with the IGES, SET STEP data exchange standards and related problems Experience with both spacecraft and launcher structuralmechanical systems, both for metallic and composite structures Solid educational background and experience in the field of structural dynamics Experience in the generation of structural finite element mathematical models and adequate knowledge about the use of relevant software, such as Nastran, Patran, including loads derivation Adequate knowledge in the employment of the following CAD software Catia v4 and Catia v5. Knowledge of other CAD systems is also desirable Excellent team worker Willingness to travel.

The successful candidate will work as part fo the Mechanical Platform MSC Major Satellite Component, which is the part of Astrium Telecoms which provides the structurethermalpropulsion systems for E3000 satellite projects, in the form of integrated harware assemblies ready for equipment integration during payload and satellite build phases. The Structures Project Engineer is a key member of the satellite design team within Mechanical Platform MSC and supports the project Responsible Engineer during critical phases of the design lifecycle. The key responsibilities of the role are as follows Detailed design of structural items allocated by the Responsible Engineer Liaise with other engineering teams to optimise the design definition and to ensure that all structural requirements are met Responsible for the detailed checking of manufacturing drawings to ensure compliance with structural design requirements Attend Team Interface meetings to develop and maintain familiarity with the project Support the Responsible Engineer in the provision of design documentation as required to support project reviews Produce a drawing release plan which is then updated during the design lifecycle Support with workpackage management activities as required The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience Must have a working knowledge of aerospace structures design techniques and methods and an understanding of the static and dynamic behaviour of structures.
