Vets group seeks data on service academies' gender targets

A lawsuit filed in Connecticut on behalf of a female veterans group is pressing the Pentagon for information on gender targets and recruiting policies at U.S. service academies. The complaint filed Tuesday alleges the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S. Naval Academy did not respond adequately to requests filed in November for records under the Freedom of Information Act.

FCC seeks fiber-optic delay data from AT&T

The Federal Communications Commission on Friday formally requested that AT&T provide all documents and data related to its planned fiber-optic cable buildouts nationwide. The request came following this week's public statements by AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson, who said that AT&T would delay its fiber-optic buildouts in 100 cities nationwide while the FCC considers Net neutrality rules under its Open Internet Proceeding.

Bloomberg: U.S. President Barack Obamas administration is concerned that a crucial United Nations report on climate science may be too harsh in assessing the cost of fighting global warming. Such a finding may lower the incentive for the world to reduce fossil fuel pollution and feed the arguments of those skeptical about whether its worth spending money to curtail rising temperatures. The report will be completed by hundreds of scientists and government officials at a UN meeting in Berlin next week....
