MTG Data Dissemination Software Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Data Services Competence Area you will provide support to the Data Service systems, with main focus on the activities of the Data Dissemination Services to be provided to the MTG Program. You will have the following responsibilities Delivering data services and requirement management and validation and verification of the system Reviewing, analysing of Data Dissemination Services and Service Level Agreement SLA specifications Defining and implementing the Service metrics and the corresponding SLAs Verifying the Data Dissemination Services and its system and software requirements can be traced through design, code and test phases Analysing and reviewing the Validation and Verification Test specifications Implementation of the dissemination data flows Giving Operational Support for Data Dissemination systems such as monitoring and reporting the performance, investigating problems and raising anomalies Supporting the delivery processes of the system, liaising with external contractors Maintaining the technical documentations, writing Software Requirements, Service Definitions, Test Approaches and Plans Preparation and production of routine reports. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in relevant engineering discipline Several years experience in IT Service Management ITIL, in software development projects and in software verification and validation related activities Several years experience in maintaining high available and scalable software systems Knowledge of Java, JavaScript, Software Development methodologies Waterfall, Data Transfer Protocols such as FTP, Web development and XML technology, Oracle or MySQL, UNIX systems Practical knowledge of data dissemination, definition of data flows, EO Ground Segment systems, OGC Interoperability Standards, Meteorological Data Formats will be an advantage Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of French language is an advantage.
