Jury returns $1.85M verdict favoring Central Freight Lines

A Texas state court jury in Rockwall County has returned a $1.85 million verdict in favor of Waco-based Central Freight Lines, finding that a local company breached its contract to provide Central Freight with workers' compensation insurance and claims administration services. Jurors found that Rockwall-based Trendsetter HR and its owner, D.W. Bobst, failed to honor the terms of the contract and wrongfully billed Central Freight for services and coverage that were never provided.

Heavy snow leaves 16,000 without power in central Idaho

Idaho Power officials say nearly 16,000 customers are without power in central Idaho due to multiple downed power lines. The power went out just hours after utility crews had finished restoring outages in Valley County that had occurred over the weekend and early Monday morning.

TeliaSonera divests stake in Nepal's Ncell, begins Central Asia exit

Dec 21 Swedish telecoms operator TeliaSonera AB on Monday said it has agreed to sell its 60.4 percent stake in Nepalese operator Ncell to Malaysian mobile operator Axiata for $1.03 billion, receiving a further $48 million in compensation for dissolving a Nepalese ownership. TeliaSonera had said in September it would gradually abandon Central Asian markets, hit by years of investigations into alleged corruption linked to local partners and problems accessing cash in distant countries.
