Swisscom posts stable revenue in 2018, sees fall in 2019

(Telecompaper) Swisscom's net revenues in 2018 amounted to CHF 11.71 billion, a slight increase of 0.4 percent year-on-year and better than its outlook for flat revenues. Annual EBITDA fell 1.9 percent to CHF 4.21 billion, in line with guidance, and the EBITDA margin was down from 36.8 percent in 2017 to 36.0 percent in 2018. For 2019, Swisscom expects net revenue to drop to around CHF 11.4 billion, EBITDA to improve to over CHF 4.3 billion and capital expenditure of around CHF 2.3 billion.

Amazon sees continued slower growth in Q1 after Q4 sales rise of 20%

(Telecompaper) Looking forward towards the first quarter, Amazon said it expects even slower growth, with revenues seen up 10-18 percent to USD 56-60 billion. The operating profit should reach USD 2.3-3.3 billion, from 1.9 billion the year before.

Nokia meets 2018 guidance after Q4 sales grow 3%, sees better results in 2019

(Telecompaper) Nokia reported a solid finish to 2018, with fourth-quarter revenues up 3 percent year-on-year on both a reported and organic basis to EUR 6.87 billion. The company forecast results to improve further in the course of 2019 as 5G roll-outs gather momentum, and increased its dividend by 5 percent to EUR 0.20 per share.
