Consultancy Support on Ground Station System Engineering Key Tasks and Responsibilities You will support the activities of ground segment developments in the areas of ground stations, RF and telecommunications with thefollowing tasks Engineering activities of phase B of future ground segments Responsibility of the follow up of detailed design and development activities of pahse CD of the future ground segments Maintenance and evolutions in phase E to other programmes within the company, e. g. MTG Participation in the daily activities of the STC Lab supporting systems simulations and analysis as well as small applications developments based on MathLab and Labview. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent Several years of professional experience in a similar function Experience in the field of ground stations system, subsystem design and development for TTC Experience in satellite communications ground stations Technical background in the specification of ground stations and large antennas as well as tracking systems for LEO and GEO satellites Knowledge of ECSS and CCSDS standards Knowledge of design and requirements engineering of earth observation related ground stations System experience with Link budget analysis and tools in S, X and Ka Band would be an asset. Knowledge of High Data Rate Demodulators is advantageous Ability to work autonomously with a minimum level of supervision as well as in a team Good oral and written communication skills Analytical capabilities Fluency in English is mandatory, the knowledge of French is an advantage. For our activities in EUMETSAT, we are currently seeking a Ground Station System Engineer to support the activities of ground segment developments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications. In doing this, the engineer shall support Engineering activities of Phase B of future ground segments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications The follow up of the detailed design and development activities of Phase CD of the future ground segments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications The maintenance and evolution in phase E to the other programmes within EUMETSAT MSG, MTG, EPS, Jason2, etc in the areas of Telecommunications, RF and Ground Stations Participation in the daytoday activities of the STC Lab managed within EUMETSAT small Telecommunications and RF laboratory supporting system simulations and analysis as well as small applications developments based mainly on MatLab and Labview e.g. tailored Remote Spectrum Analyser MMIs Integration and verification, demonstrating that the deliverables conform to specified requirements. The Engineer will be a member of a multidisciplinary system engineering team and will report directly to the System Engineering and Projects SEP Ground Stations Engineering team Leader, however, when working in a given programme, the engineer shall also report within the established programme structure. In the performance of these tasks, the consultant shall apply the relevant organisational and programmatic quality management procedures as well as the relevant ground stations system engineering standards. The working hours for this position are Monday Thursday 08301715 and Friday 08301600. This position will also require some standbycallout support which will be discussed in advance. Qualifications and Requirements Applicants require a University degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the job profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision. Essential Heshe shall have a demonstrated experience in a similar function for at least 5 years. This experience should include Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for TTC, mission specific andor satellite communications ground stations TTC baseband equipment and SLE compliant implementations Technical background in the specification and VV of ground stations and large antennas and tracking systems for LEO and GEO satellites ACU and receivers inclusive Knowledge of modulationdemodulation schemes applied by Ground to Space ICD for TTC and payload data transmission e.g. ECSS and CCSDS Standards. Desirable Design and requirements engineering of large and complex Earth Observation related ground stations e.g. MSG PGS or EPS CDAs Usage of High Data Rate Demodulators System experience with Link budget analysis and tools in S,X and Ka Band Standard RF and microwave tools and SW package for generation of signal processing related simulations andor semiautomated measurement procedures for complementing the capabilities of the STC Lab. The Engineer shall be in possession of sound management and interpersonal skills to conduct the responsibilities described above autonomously and with a minimum level of supervision, exhibiting good spoken and written communications skills, analytical capabilities and motivation. The official langugages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for this position is English and therefore the engineer must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other. Attorney General Sues Companies for Gas Station Environmental Pollution
