In this role you will be responsible for The Engineering activities of Phase B of future ground segments in the areas of ground stations software and MC systems The follow up of the detailed design and development activities of Phase CD of the future ground segments The analysis and the implementationtesting of changes, or reengineering The testing and validation of new software and databases releases The automated operational Ground stations procedures and related databases The remote operation and the maintenance of Ground Stations in the areas of Monitoring Control and SW architecture Transfer of spacecraft telemetry, telecommand and mission data Suppport to the Ground Station Lab. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline with several years experience in a similar role System software engineering experience in an operational earth observation ground station environment Experience in Ground Stations Monitoring and Control Sound knowledge of LinuxWindows operating system, TCPIP, SNMP, Serial based communications, C and Java programming languages and XML Exerience with longterm maintainability analysis and software integration Experience with ground stations system and subsystem design and development for TTC, mission specific andor satellite communications ground stations Knowledge of multiplexingdemultiplexing schemes applied in Space Links for TTC and payload data transmission would be an asset Fluency in English is mandatory, knowledge of another European language is an advantage. AVAILABILITY WORKING HOURS The activity is assumed, as a baseline, to require fulltime participation and it may require very limited travel within Europe for certain activities. The work will be released in individual work packages based on rolling wave resource plans and related project plans. Two types of support are required from the successful person Normal Support WeekendLate Night Support Normal Support The task will be performed during normal office hours Monday Thursday from 0830 to 1715 and Friday from 0830 to 1600. A 30 minute lunch break shall be taken during the interval 1200 1330. Weekend Late Night Support Rarely tasks may require weekend and latenight work outside normal working hours. It will always be agreed in advance between both parties at least one week in advance. The following provisions shall apply for weekendlate night work The client will specify in advance, on a work package basis, the schedule and scope for weekendlate night work.
