LBCA series conforms to Bluetooth 4.0 low energy protocol and includes models with (LBCA2HNZYZ) or without (LBCA2BZZFZ) built-in antenna. With 0 dBm output power, modules have 30 m typ range. Interfaces include UART, SPI, I²C, and GPIO; peak current consumption is 4.5 mA; and sleep current draw is 0.6 uA or less. Typ current consumption during communications is 6 µA when 20 bytes of data are transmitted once per second. Model LBCA2BZZFZ, without antenna, measures 5.4 x 4.4 mm. Intel's new Quark chips target wearable computing

Intel has made its move to target the emerging market for wearable computers with a new family of low-power chips called Quark. Intel said its new Quark X1000 chips are about one-fifth the size and consume one-tenth the power of its Atom processors, its current most-power-efficient line of chips.But while Atom processors are aimed at tablets and smartphones, Quark will be for devices with even lower-power requirements, such as smartwatches, glasses, and medical devices that can be worn about the body.
