2014-05-20 09:35:00| Telecompaper Headlines
(Telecompaper) Australian operator Telstra is the latest to partner with Fon to expand its customers' access to Wi-Fi. From early 2015, Telstra home broadband customers with a compatible modem will be able to join the Fon Wi-Fi community. In exchange for securely sharing a portion of their bandwidth with other Telstra Wi-Fi customers, they will be able to use their home broadband allowance via the Telstra Wi-Fi hotspot network, as well as gain access to more than 12 million Fon hotspots around the world. Telstra said the Wi-Fi network will add to its 4G coverage, giving customers more options to connect. It targets 2 million hotspots within five years of the partnership.
