Senior System IntegrationHardware Engineer International Space project Category Information Technology City Leatherhead, Surrey, United Kingdom Position ID J09141831 Permanent Full Time Position Description A Senior Hardware Integration Engineer is required to work on CGIs Space and Defence projects. Please note that previous experience within Space or MOD projects is only desirable rather than essential. The initial role is expected to be on the Galileo satellite navigation project for the European Space Agency. For this, CGI is developing the ground station systems that oversee Galileo security and that control interaction with the 30 satellites, control the distribution of navigation data to the satellites and ground equipment, and that control access to the public regulated service by authorised bodies throughout the EU. CGI is developing bespoke software, procuring hardware specialist cryptographic equipment and COTS equipment and assembling the systems in racks at our Leatherhead site in the UK. The racks are then deployed to several sites within the EU for operational use. The system design is classified and role requires the handling of classified material. Experience Qualifications Required Skills Experience of system hardware specification and design Engineering drawing sets BS8888BS308 or DEF STAN 0510 Racking diagrams Wiringconnection schedules Network designimplementation Appreciation of and handson experience of the hardware servers, switches, firewalls, etc. Familiarity with COTS hardware including servers, workstations and infrastructure components such as firewall and switches Familiarity with equipment rack wiring practices Working knowledge of European electrical safety and EMC regulations including Safety in Design EN60950 Prepared to travel and work overseas in the EU for occasional short periods, e.g. 1 week SC cleared or capable of obtaining this level of clearance Good communication skills and the ability to interact well with colleagues and client staff Desirable Skills Experience of hardware fault diagnosis and maintenance Understanding of system security issues Working knowledge of OS level Windows server and workstation TEMPEST protection principles Experience of hardware shipment and export practices Familiarity with asset management processes Space project experience, especially for the European Space Agency MOD project experience At CGI, were a team of builders. One of our clients in the UK is looking for a Senior Project Manager. It is a permanent role. Key Tasks Project Management Daytoday management of the project core team activities to ensure the entire project is progressing in line with the baseline plan. Communication with customers and internal stakeholders, including Heads of Business, Head of Projects, Engineering Team Leaders and Department Managers, Project Accounting and Commercial teams. Management of the major project reviews, identifying clear objectives, inputs, outputs and success criteria. Management of the project key risks to ensure that risks are identified, captured and mitigation actions in place. Monitoring and control of the project finances contingency, cost to complete, profit take to ensure the project is delivered within the agreed budget. Monitoring and control of all project work packages to ensure they are delivered on time and to cost, and to identify early deviations from the agreed baseline plan. Your Role Degree or equivalent in an engineering or technical subject would be preferable. Proven experience in project management specifically in setting up, running and successfully delivering projects, ideally in a satellite or engineeringaerospace industry. Good experience of implementing contracts. Familiarity with work package systems and matrix management structure preferable. Proven experience in project management in an engineeringaerospace industry. Excellent interpersonal skills able to influence, persuade and negotiate with all levels of people effectively. Understand contracts and product assurance plans. Ability to cope under pressure and ensure deadlines are met. Strong attention to detail. Good organisation skills. Good presentation and customer facing skills. Highly results orientated strong drive to deliver. Proficient in all MS Office packages and knowledge of Microsoft Project.

The contract duration will be 2 years. The Senior Software Engineer EHealth Project is directly responsible for the specification, design, implementation, validation and verification of the software systems and networking facilities required for implementing of the worldwide satellite based ehealth and elearning systems. About the EHealth Project The EHealth tool will be designed as an extension of emergency.lu which is a multilayer platform for the international humanitarian community. As such this tool will be an ICT tool for development with the overall goal to improve public health in developing and emerging countries. More specifically, the EHealth Tool will provide the basis for three major elements of global health Human resources It will provide modern communication tools that are adapted to medical education and training. Therefore, it will help connecting medical doctors and personnel from developing countries to their colleagues in developed countries and thus facilitate the dissemination of qualified medical knowledge, e.g. by hospital partnerships like ESTHER or other initiatives. Infrastructure The EHealth tool will give easy access to IT infrastructure anywhere worldwide, including remote areas. Infrastructure components comprise electronic patient records and picture archive and communication systems. The cloud computing principle will permit a fully scalable use of the infrastructure from small isolated health care facilities to larger hospitals, hospital chains or national medical networks Interoperability It will be created as a multilayer platform that enables to integrate different eHealth tools. Currently existing eHealth applications are strongly fragmented and heterogeneous. Creating an architecture that allows the integration and interoperability between different eHealth solutions will be therefore one of the priorities of the tool. The objective of the EHealth tool is not to pursue the creation of allpurpose monolithic application, but rather to establish the framework and integrate the first application that will allow medical doctors to use familiar tools that are best suited to their needs.
