Sinch to buy Brazil's Wavy from Movile, sees up to BRL 20 mln synergies in 2 years

(Telecompaper) Swedish mobile messaging service provider Sinch said it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Brazilian messaging company Wavy for BRL 355 million in cash and 1.53 million new shares issued to owner Movile, and expects to complete the deal in the second half of 2020. Merger synergies are expected to reach BRL 15-20 million over the coming 24 months. Sinch has increased its credit facility by SEK 600 million for future acquisition opportunities, too.

Sunrise grows service revenues, EBITDA 3% in Q2, sees higher synergies from UPC deal

(Telecompaper) Swiss operator Sunrise said that its service revenues grew by 3.1 percent in Q2 as a result of an increase in the number of subscriptions for mobile postpaid, TV and internet, and B2B revenue growth. However, total revenues fell by 1.7 percent year-on-year to CHF 455 million, due to reduced hubbing and mobile hardware sales, both carrying low profitability.

Poly accelerates cost synergies plan as revenues fall short in Q2

(Telecompaper) Poly, the company formed from Plantronics and Polycom, reported revenues for its fiscal first quarter to June of USD 448 million, double the USD 221 million a year earlier thanks to the takeover of Polycom. (Telecompaper) Telenor Group and Axiata Group announced talks on a potential non-cash merger of their telecom and infrastructure assets in Asia, in which Telenor would take a majority stake. The MergeCo would have its HQ in Malaysia and would serve nearly 300 million customers using approximately 60,000 towers in nine countries in Asia.
