EU Clothing Imports in 3rd Quarter and January-September 2018: Origins (Statistical Report)

2018-11-23 19:25:43| EmergingTextiles.com

China's share of the European Union's clothing imports has sharply dropped in the third quarter of the year in volume terms, as Chinese unit prices were further soaring. Bangladesh has continued taking advantage of China's setback whereas the surge in shipments from Myanmar or Cambodia has followed the relocation of Chinese apparel industry to low-cost countries in Asia. Latest trends are reflected by our comprehensive review of 3rd quarter and January-September data per origin, from 2013-2018. A large number of statistical tables are published, with volume, value and unit value changes released in both euro and US$ terms. The full tables are also available for download.

US Apparel Imports in Jan-Sep 2018: China vs. Rest of World (Statistical Report)

2018-11-22 20:25:00| EmergingTextiles.com

China has once again lost shares of the US apparel market in the first three quarters of the year. Because of their inability of further lowering prices, Chinese exporters have suffered from competition from other nations, especially in man-made fiber apparel categories where they were supposed to have a decisive advantage. This is reflected by our statistical review comparing US apparel imports from China with shipments from Rest of the World (RoW) for every category of products, in volume, value and unit value terms. Historical data cover the first half of the past five years, from 2013-2018.
