Direct shipments to European clothing markets have moved differently in the third quarter, depending on destinations. UK's imports have stabilized after losing 20% in five years, in volume terms. Shipments to emerging European markets have significantly increased. Our 5-year data from third quarter 2014 reflect long-term trends of European Union clothing markets, offering a comprehensive review of the European Union imports per destination. Shipments from Haiti have surged, by contrast, as indicated by our series of tables and charts displaying a comprehensive view of the US apparel imports from Haiti and the CAFTA-DR (Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic) in the third quarter 2014-19.

The fall of Chinese shipments in the first three quarters of 2019 has benefited most other origins, although China retained a double-digit market share for nearly all apparel categories. Vietnam and Cambodia have been the clear winners of the period, with South Asia remaining strong in cotton categories, as reflected by our data. Our series of statistical tables offer a comprehensive comparison of volume, value, and unit value changes per origin and product category in the first three quarters of 2019. The report also includes a detailed comparison of Chinese price trends vs. other origins, through a series of indexes. Unit value changes in percentage terms and market shares per category and per origin are also released. Our full table is available for download.
