Architecturally finished aluminum is considered any that has been treated with anodic or organic coatings. AAMA 609 & 610-15 spells out methods, equipment, and materials applicable for cleaning such finished aluminum after construction and for subsequent periodic maintenance. AAMA CW-10-15 recommends how best to care for aluminum from mill to product fabrication, to loading and shipping of finished product, and includes care both prior to, and after, building completion.

Experts spoke about Life Cycle Assessments as well as their involved intricacies at American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) 78th Annual Conference, which took place February 15–18 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Attendees also heard updates, including developments with ENERGY STAR® and California building codes, during Regulatory Affairs Committee. Topics included Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).

During 78th Annual Conference Awards Banquet, AAMA recognized contributions and achievements of its members. Kim Flanary, engineering director for Milgard, was named Outstanding Member, and Kawneer was given 2015 Chairman's Award. Distinguished Service Award for the Architectural Products Group was presented to Doug Holmberg of Apogee Enterprises/Wausau Window and Wall Systems. Distinguished Service Award for the Residential Products Group was presented to Joe Hayden, senior engineer for Pella.
