Job Description On behalf of the European Space Agency ESA, we are looking for a Technology Harmonisation Engineer for their location in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, to join their Technology Coordination Planning Office. Please note this is an external consultant position not a Staff position. Tasks and Responsibilities Technology Planning Piloting the Technology Harmonisation process at European level leading to roadmaps agreed by ESA Programmes, Technical Domain leaders, Member States and industry and monitoring the implementation Providing a secretariat function for the Technology Harmonisation Advisory Group and Technology Advisory Working Group Establishing the European Space Technology Master Plan Maintaining a database of industrial capabilities consistent with harmonisation dossiers and roadmaps, and in coordination with DIPL Supporting industrial policies relating to technologies Interfacing with the EU for technology related matters and coordinating the Agency support to EU technology programmes Leading the coordination with the European Commission and European Defence Agency of critical space technologies for European non dependence Maintaining the endtoend process for management of technology development within ESA, providing the secretariat function to different working groups, and evolving it as required to improve efficiency and use Evaluating technology development results at aggregate Agency level Contributing to actions supporting Member States in preparing and implementing National technology RD programmes and projects. Requirements A Masters degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering or similar technology related discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience A background in a range of technologies relevant to space and experience in space projects and technology development Ability to work and communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary technical and institutional environment Easy contact with personnel and well balanced autonomy in the execution of the requested tasks Rigor, commitment and reliability in the execution of the assigned tasks and capacity to identify priority actions Familiarity with electronics office automation tools e.g. Microsoft Office suite, including Access and techniques, electronic mailing, customised databases, and ideally, familiarity with ESA corporate tools. Experience in general EEE support for Space projects. Fluency in English both written and spoken is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. NOTEfor candidates with less than 10 years experience, the relevant academic transcripts must be provided in order to give a more complete candidate profile at the selection stage. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line withESA Job Class. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday.
