Job description For our customer, the European Space Agency ESA, we are seeking an experienced Technology Transfer specialist to work at ESAs ESTEC site in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Responsibilities You will be assigned to ESAESTECs Technology Transfer and Patent Office TTPO reporting to the Head of the Office as Technology Transfer Officer at engineer grade. The TTPO facilitates and derisks the technology transfer process by offering access to technical expertise, technologies as well as financial support to industry. In particular, the office is in charge of managing and fostering the use of space technologies outside the space field and implementing related demonstration activities coordinating the technical support to technology transfer activities acting as the Secretariat for the Patents Group managing all aspects related to the ESA patents portfolio in accordance with the Patents Group mandate promoting the utilization of ESAs patents portfolio by both space and nonspace industry. The Technology Transfer Officer role will focus on liaising with scientists and engineers at ESA particularly ESTEC with a view to identifying technological developments taking place within the Agency and under ESA contracts suitable for use in other sectors. Qualifications Competencies The successful candidate shall have A Masters degree in an engineering, technical or scientific discipline relevant to space technologies. A total of at least 4 years relevant working experience. Specific diplomas or experience in relevant areas such as technology transfer, technology assessment, commercialization, intellectual property in particular patent rights, licensing and patenting process are essential. Fluency in English. Desirable Previous experience of working in the ESA environment andor similar public research organizations is desirable. Knowledge of Space Systems and Space System Engineering is useful. Experience with hightech business development and small startups is useful.
