Telefonica Deutschland issues dual-tranche promissory note loan using Blockchain

(Telecompaper) Telefonica Deutschland announced it has issued a promissory note loan that combines traditional financing with a tranche using Blockchain technology. The promissory note loan carries a target volume of EUR 200 million and was issued with DZ Bank and the Landesbank Baden-Wuerttemberg (LBBW). The Blockchain tranche of the euro-denominated dual-tranche note loan has a tenor of slightly longer than one year, while the traditional component will likely have a tenor of 7 to 15 years, said Telefonica Deutschland.

Telefonica Deutschland slows sales drop, OIBDA accelerates in Q2

(Telecompaper) Telefonica Deutschland slowed its drop in revenues to 3.4 percent in the second quarter, for a total EUR 1.77 billion, while growth in adjusted EBITDA accelerated to 5 percent, to EUR 472 million. The OIBDA margin improved 2 percentage points to 26.7 percent, driven by cost savings. The company said it reduced costs by EUR 40 million in the quarter.
