Serco Nederland BV is looking for an AIV AIT Electrical Engineer to support the System Modelling and Functional Verification Section of the Software Systems Division. Task Overview Definition and updating of the requirements related to the Satellite AITAIV e.g. plans, test specifications, test procedures Ensuring the definition and implementation of a satellite andor payload AIV programme meet the technical and programmatic requirements. Monitoring and control of subsystem and system level integration and test activities e.g. participation to test reviews, test readiness, test boards, attendance to test execution Monitoring and control of the industrial activities related to the procurement, development and maintenance of the ground support equipments, including the instrument AITAIV and corresponding ground support equipments Support to Satellite, Subsystems and Instruments Reviews in the areas of EGSE, AIT and AIV. Support to the launch campaign preparation, monitoring and control of all integration and test activities at the launch site Early identification of problem areas and support to their resolution Support the review and definition of the in flight and onground calibration and characterisation activities from an EGSEAIT viewpoint. Specific Task Provide support for the AIT activities of the Aeolus project, covering all necessary phases up to the launch of the satellite being responsible for Monitoring the AITAIV plans produced by the satellite prime contractor and ensuring that they are coherent and consistent with the baseline schedule via regular AIT meetings at the prime contractors premises Identifying potential risks to the schedule and identifying workaround solutions and risk mitigations which can be implemented Participating to TRRs and PTRs as the representative of the project in coordination with the ADMAeolus Instrument and AIT, Engineering and PA Managers Participating in NRBs and TRBs as one of the representatives of the project and ensure that there is adequate support for AIT activities and AIT reviews, both within industry and ESA Ensuring that all GSE is complete configured and properly verified in time for AIT activities and that all SW and Automated Procedures required for SC verification are consistent with the need Reviewing AIT procedures with the support of project and DTEC technical responsible, in particular, that the test procedures properly define the requirements to be verified by the test and that these verifications are properly traced to the test report and the VCD Supporting the Engineering manager in Verification Control Boards Supporting the Aeolus launch campaign ensuring the launch facilities are in a state of readiness for the satellite and are inspected and verified, that transfer of all GSE is completed and that these are verified prior to satellite launch readiness preparation consistent with the need. Monitoring the completeness of all AITAIV activities up to launch in accordance with an agreed launch operations plan Qualifications and Requirements Applicants require a University degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent. An ability to work independently and to establish good working relations with ESA and industrial counterparts is essential. Essential skills Practical experience of working in AIT Extensive experience of system level functional and performance testing Experience of at least one complete satellite test and launch campaign in an AITAIV role Experience of satellite verification engineering, Good knowledge of GSE operations and infrastructure Ability to travel to the satellite prime contractors premises frequently and to act as onsite support where appropriate during the satellite test and launch campaigns. You will be an integrated member of the AITAIV team in relevant phases, e.g. during extensive thermal test campaign in CSL. Time at the satellites prime premises, Airbus Stevenage UK, as onsite support, is expected to be a minimum of 50 of your total allocated time, as well as 100 supporting the launch campaign onsite. Summary An experienced engineer with proven expertise in data processing for optical systems on EO missions. Objective AsLevel 1 2 Processor Engineer you will carry out work for the ADM Aeolus Project. The engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and be in liaison with the Instrument Engineer and the System Engineer. Responsibilities Duties Specific tasks include the following To be the Project responsible for the E2SL1L2 processors Manage the development of the E2SL1L2 processor follow the daytoday activity, review progress reporting, attend and followup progress meetings. Implement the Anomaly Review process organise Anomaly Review Boards, Maintain ARTS, Followup action items. Accept new E2SL1L2 software by installing with help of TEC support, reviewing associated documentation. Run E2SL1L2 software in house 1.For acceptance, 2. Support the Project for performance related issues Following of Industrys work on ground processing and algorithms, Evaluation of Industrys mission error budgets and modelling, Translation of instrument characteristics to mission level, Review the Flight Operation Manuals for relevant volumessections. Support the CALVAL campaign Support the revision of the CalVal plan, Support the preparation phase, Support the CalVal after Launch. Support the Project in general terms Support the Project Scientist, Support the system verification process, Attend weekly team meetings, Report to the team and flag potential issues. Qualifications Experience MSc or equivalent qualification in Physics or Engineering Extended knowledge of the Earth Observation payload data ground segment, including processes such as calibration, monitoring routine data processing processors and facilities interactions with other stakeholders FOS, end users Extended knowledge of data analysisprocessing statistics, error budgets simulations data tools such as Matlab Working knowledge on remote sensing techniques, with a focus on optical systems transmissions, backscatter, extinction processing algorithms detectors Good knowledge of computer environment Linux, GNU compilers, Matlab, scripting such as python, shell scripts, perl, etc. CalVal experience Industrial experience preferred Essential Skills Affinity with numerical weather prediction is an advantage Desirable Skills Good level of autonomy and organizing skills are desired Fluent in the English language spoken and written knowledge of other languages is an asset Further Details All roles within Telespazio VEGA have a defined closing date, however if a successful candidate is found before the advert expires the role will be closed early.
