EPSSG Science Support 1513088 Job Description We are looking for EPSSG Science Support for our client EUMETSAT. Your job will include scientific aspects related to the development of the product processing functions of the optical imaging missions in the EPSSG ground segment. Your tasks and responsibilities will include Preparation of product generation specifications for the product processing facilities Prototyping of product generation functions Generation of product contents specifications Preparation of test data Preparation of initial calibrationvalidation plans Contribution to the generation of performance budgets Assessment of results from external studies Contribution to the initiation of scientific support studies System meetings and activities of instrument functional chain teams IFCT Participation in ground segment andor instrument reviews, progress and technical meetings. Required Skills and Experience University degree in remote sensing, meteorology, oceanography, physics, or equivalent At least three years of experience in the field of remote sensing in one or more of the areas listed above, including involvement in processing of satellite data up to level 1 calibrated geolocated radiances andor level 2 geophysical parameters Very good skills in a highlevel, compiled programming language, such as Fortran, CC, Java Fluency in commandline use on LinuxUnix platforms Skills in writing scientifictechnical documents Familiarity with Microsoft Office Desirable Skills and Experience Experience in understanding and specifying requirements Experience with the specification, development and validation of satellite data processing chains Experience with calibration and product validation methods Knowledge in radiative transfer.
