AMD is moving closer to a motherboard design that will accept both x86 and ARM chips with the shipment of its first 64-bit ARM board. The Opteron A1100-Series developer hardware is an uncased computer costing $2,999, and aimed at programmers who want to write applications and drivers for AMD's unreleased ARM servers, which are expected to become available by early next year.

(Telecompaper) MediaTek has announced the 64-bit MT6795 Octa-core LTE smartphone SoC with the world's first 2k display support. The company expects the flagship product to be the first 64-bit octa-core SoC with speeds of up to 2.2 GHz to hit market when it becomes commercially available at the end of the year. It has designed the product to empower high-end device makers to leap into the Android 64-bit era. The MT6795 features MediaTek's CorePilot technology and a dual-channel LPDDR3 clocked at 933 MHz for high-end multi-processor performance, thermal control and memory bandwidth. It can support 120 Hz displays and create and playback 480 frames per second 1080 pixel Full HD slow motion videos. The chipset supports Release 9, Category 4 FDD and TDD LTE (150/50 mbps), 2G and 3G modems, Wi-Fi 802.11ac/Bluetooth/FM/GPS, Glonass and Beidou.
