The City Council will consider a proposed new policy that will guide the process by which City bureaus determine that City-owned real properties no longer are needed and can be sold or transferred to other ownership. The policy describes how City bureau's will notify neighborhood associations and the community about properties they are considering disposing of. The City Council will consider this proposed policy on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, sometime after 9:30 a.m.

All are welcome to attend the Covington Community Prayer Breakfast on Friday, July 17. It will take place at St. Paul's Briggs Assembly Center at the corner of Jefferson Ave. and 12th St. The program will begin at 7 a.m. and end at 8:30 a.m. The Covington Bicentennial Prayer Breakfast of two years ago so impressed the Kiwanis Club that it has become an annual event. Special guests that will be attending include Mayor of Covington Mike Cooper; St.Tammany Parish President Pat Brister; Representative John Schroder; Covington Police Chief Tim Lentz; District Attorney Warren Montgomery; St. Tammany Parish Coroner Charles Preston; Kiwanis President Dan Johnson; plus other special guests.
