Electromechanical Engineer for Test Facility

Aurora has the opportunity to expand our support to ESA in the domain of ETM Environmental Testing and Mechanical AIV Engineering. Overview General tasks related to the role are Support ESA for the development and improvement of environmental test facilities used for Space programme. Improving the existing environmental test facilities and methods. Developing and implementing new test facilities and test methods to support the evolution of space test requirements. Supervising and supporting maintenance, calibration, repair and operation activities on environmental test facilities. Support the Customers of the Test Centre. Participate in formal project reviews and tender evaluation boards, usually in the AIV panel. Specific qualification requirements University degree MSc. in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering. At least 4 years experience with design, operation and maintenance of environmental test facilities used for space hardware shakers, thermal vacuum facilities. Handson experience for troubleshooting of complex electromechanical systems. Fluent in the English language spoken and written. Knowledge of another European language is an asset. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line with ESA Job Class. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. Training to improve efficiency and provide strength for future career are of course included. Aurora assist with relocation both with support and financially. Electromechanical Technician Key Tasks and Responsibilities As Electromechanical Technician, you will have the following responsibilities Check the production documentation regarding completeness, comprehensibility and applicability Assembly of electronic units and harnesses for space missions according to production documentation Integration of harnesses into spacecraft Assembly of electric boards and PCB equipment Integration of subunits to a main unit Gluing of thermal hardware and structural elements Documentation of production via work label, logsheets and asis configuration list Contact person for engineering and design department with respect to increasing efficiency of production Support of definition, maintenance and improvement of processes, planning and investments for production Procurement management for consumables.
