As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be providing support the Manufacturing team and focusing on Concession designs and nonconformances. This means the role is varied and tackles problems and designs that are out of the usual. Were looking for someone who has strong design experience with nonconformances concession design experience. You will be joining a team of 5 within a much larger department, where there is the opportunity to progress your career UK and company wide. The successful candidate will need to gain UK Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. The development of design solutions and repair schemes for nonconformances generated during the design, manufacture and test of spacecraft structures and component parts under tight schedule constraints. Interfacing with project managers and other technical departments in order to optimise the technical solutions and resources, and to ensure that all project and qualification requirements for those related items and systems are met. Presenting and justifying design concessions at internal and external customer reviews. Participating in reviews to ensure all applicable nonconformance and occurrence reports have been satisfactorily closed prior to spacecraft delivery to the launch site Assessing and recommending second closure actions relating to nonconformances to help prevent future similar issues. Identifying opportunities for involvement in innovation projects, to investigate and develop new design solutions. Focusing on On Quality, On Cost, On Time to minimise impact on the projects. Attending team meetings to closely follow the project progress and maintain close relations with the project team. Supporting the Team Leader with workpackage management activities as required. Raising significant issues to the project Responsible Engineers as necessary. Taking an active role in the identification of improvement and development activities. This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth. GNSS Propagation and SBAS Processing Design Engineering Support for EGNOS

Specific Tasks Task 1 Support to the coordination and critical assessment of all propagation and associated design related issues within EGNOS Project Office including algorithm assessment and recommendations Task 2 Support to the animation of an international technical subgroup e.g. contributing to IWG Technical Subgroup related to GNSS and Ionospheric modelling and processing e.g. for iono gradients and scintillations Task 3 Participation and contribution to multimodal e.g. Aviation, Maritime GNSS standardisation groups for what concerns propagation effects modelling and processing e.g. scintillation, multipath Task 4 Support to the management of several RD projects related to GNSS related propagation e.g. MONITOR, Multipath Studies, Interference mitigation Task 5 Support to the preparation and validation of ionospheric model data and delivery to EGNOS V2V3Evolutions Contractors Task 6 Support the coordination with TEC support with respect to propagation related subjects o modelling of the navigation propagation signals using stateof theart software tools and databases o modelling of ionospheric propagation conditions and their effects on SBAS satellite navigation missions Task 7 Support the definition of campaigns to serve RD and other EGNOS project needs e.g. for scintillation monitoring. Task 8 Assist the Head of EGNOS Systems Engineering Section with the planning and execution of RD activities as well as in managing the necessary software tools and databases related to IONO modelling and processing. Task 9 Supporting several projects, the service provider will be involved in project reviews for EGNOS e.g. V2V3 system and subssytem reviews at algorithm level Requirements Masters degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, physics or Computer science with proven knowledge and experience in the fields of Algorithms, Navigation and related data. Knowledge and experience in EGNOS standards e.g. MOPSSARPS Knowledge and experience in EGNOS integrity continuity justification files Knowledge and experience in EGNOS system algorithmic performance related design justification in particular concerning propagation effects algorithmic solutions in SBAS Knowledge and experience in GNNS signals and RD projects Experiences in, procurement of industrial activities. Knowledge and experience in using and assessing EGNOS performance simulations and tools.
