Dutch Mobile data tracker - October 2014

This report looks at real-life data (3G/Wi-Fi) usage on smartphones of almost 1,000 consumers and gives insight on how much MB is used on average per month on mobile networks and Wifi, split for: Operating system iOS and Android (All, High-end phones, Low-end phones), Mobile provider (KPN, Hi, T-Mobile and Vodafone). The report also looks at a number of communication and messaging Apps and provides insight on penetration, average number of minutes of use per month and average number of sessions per month. The following Apps are included in the report: WhatsApp, Facebook, FB Messenger, Twitter, Skype, Snapchat, Google+, Viber, Instagram, Telegram. For this report we use our own tp:mobiledatatracker soure. As Monitoring real-life data traffic from smartphones is a complex task with limitations, please take a look at the preview to make sure you understand the limitations when interpreting the presented results.

Verizon Communications and AT&T, firing back at Sprint's discount data offer, have introduced another round of price cuts on shared wireless plans as carriers continue to fight for new subscribers. Starting Saturday, Verizon is cutting its $100 10-gigabyte plan to $80 a month and its $110 15-gigabyte to $100 a month.
