The estate of philanthropist Peter M. Wege has given $1 million to St. Cecilia Music Center , the biggest gift in the institution's 131-year history. St. Cecilia Music Center, the oldest, existing arts institution in Grand Rapids, is the second recipient in the past week of a major gift to its endowment fund from the estate of the former chairman of Steelcase Inc. Grand Rapids Ballet announced last week it had been given a similar $1 million bequest in the will of Wege, who died in July.
